This movie had everything I needed as an introverted high school student: martial arts, nerd getting his ass kicked and learning to strike back, some cool cars, a semi-hot girl, and a banzai tree.  I grew up in Southern California, and Johnny Lawrence, the Cobra Kai kid who fights Daniel Russo was every pretty boy d-bag I hated back then.  Of course, Cobra Kai had the cool logo and violent attitude I appreciated back then, so I was a little torn at the end.  However, overall I loved this movie.

It also had a very cool song by Bananarama.  

This movie also got Pat Morita an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.  Rumor has it that Chuck Norris was offered the roll of John Kreese, the Cobra Kai sensai, but passed on it due to a desire to not play a roll in which martial arts is portrayed negatively.  I think Martin Hove did a great job myself.

After learning about Chuck Norris possible being involved with this movie I thought I would find a list of good Chuck Norris jokes, but they all really suck.  I swear I have heard better jokes on trade chat in Orgrimmar.  Instead I found this video clip from Family Guy that has a decent Chuck reference.  I am thinking about ordering some Chuck Norris t shirts, but think it might be over, if you know what I mean.
