Dr. Suess was a childhood favorite of mine. My favorite was always the Star Bellied Sneetches. Guess which subgroup I most identified with?
As a young adult, of course, my favorite Sneetch reference would become the
Dead Kennedy’s Holiday in Cambodia. That song always struck a cord for me. Of course, growing up in a working class family but being surrounded by rich Yuppies had something of an impact on me. Not that I am a believer in communism, but I always wanted to see a bunch of rich people digging ditches in the mud.
I was looking for a killer Horton costume image, but all I found were kids costumes that truly sucked. It must blow to be a kid these days. Super coddled and overprotected in my opinion. If and when I ever have a kid I never want to hear the phrase "play date" in reference to him or her. Granted my own childhood probably had a little less supervision than I should have had, but really kids today are being raised to be the biggest wimps ever. Maybe if kids were allowed to run around and beat the hell out of each other (great cardio, in my experience) we wouldn't have such a health and obesity problem. There's a report floating around called
Ready, Willing, and Unable to Serve that basically says 75% of American kids are not able to join the military for physical, mental, or educational reasons.
But I digress. This shirt is pretty cool, and you won't find it on most sites. Great for all the Drs. Who and Suess fans.
