From what I have seen, this is definitely more a guys shirt than a girls.  That being said, I have gotten enough requests from women for this shirt to justify bringing it on board.

I love how the internet takes every opportunity to make me look like an ignorant moron.  I state something like what I just said, do a search, and the first thing I find is Zamaron, a Femme Green Lantern site.  I guess there are GL fan girls out there too.

That GL site is a little dry, but one of their links is to this feminist sci fi blog.  I went to art school at a time when feminist and marginalized art was very much in vogue, and felt more or less guilty the whole time for being one of the three straight white males in the entire program.  Since then I have scabbed over to most of the rhetoric.  I still support women and feminists in their struggle for true equality.  I just don't want to hear about it.

My best friend in art school was one of the other straight white males and he made the tragic mistake of being a grad student.  As an undergrad student I had a certain amount of immunity but as a grad student he was the automatic whipping boy for every other grad student there.  He also made the mistake of being a brilliant artist, while most of the other grad students were too busy trying to push their personal political agendas to create anything remotely good (no joke.  I saw at least one grad show that included excrement in a mason jar).  If you want to see how good he is check out some of his digital art here.

Anyway, Eric more or less felt pretty alienated the whole time he was there, and in response to that he started dressing as an alien every day.  The first day he shaved his head (he had long hair prior to that), made a helmet out of a cut down milk jug spray painted silver, a collar made from a Frisbee with the center cut out spray painted silver, and a scepter made from a piece of pipe with a light bulb taped to one end spray painted silver (silver spray paint was a cornerstone of his costumes).  He would change the costume all the time, and it became more and more elaborate.  At the end he tied a bunch of sticks to his back so they hung over his head, attached an alien baby made from a loaf of french bread spray painted silver and wrapped in tin foil in a papoose, and hung hot dogs off the sticks so they all floated around his head as he walked.

He used to walk around campus yelling things like "flibbertygibbit" at people.  Sometimes he would take raw eggs, spray paint them silver so they looked like cool little metal eggs, and smash them on his bald head right in front of people.  He would also smear ketchup and mustard on his head and carry baloney in his back pockets.  He was almost arrested multiple times on campus and more than once had to have his professor come explain to the police that he was doing performance art, not being insane.

Ironically, his dating life had up until then been relatively slow (like mine.  There was a reason we hung out together a lot) but after doing that he had a lot of women really intrigued by him and his apparent instability.  I should have done that.

Anyway, eventually he got over being traumatized by grad school and now lives in China teaching English.  Some other shirt description I will talk about his amazing grad exhibition and how cool it was.  Of all the students there his work is really the only show I really remember.  Truly a genius.

This was supposed to be about girls and Green Lantern.  Some actress I've never heard of named Blake Lively is supposed to be the girlfriend if Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming movie.  She is in something called Gossip Girl.  I know nothing about it and don't really intend to learn much.  It looks a lot like one of those shows about fabulous great looking people who live amazing lives of luxury without apparently doing anything to earn it that always annoys the bejeezus out of me.  Seriously, could anything be more annoying than watching beautiful upper crust social parasites ramora their way through a wonderful existence?  Maybe I am misinterpreting the little details I am picking up from their main site, but it all looks to much like a teenage Sex and the City for me to stomach.

Ironically, based on the little I saw I would say this show is as diametrically opposed to the principals that I would have to believe the feminist blog author I linked earlier as humanly possible.

I really didn't intend to go off on a rant when I started this one, but there it is.  Also, I am completely sick of seeing Hollywood cast pretty morons who know nothing about comics in comic movies.  Ryan Reynolds is such a disgusting pretty boy I am not even going to link anything for him.  He can rot.
