Here is the other Ferris Bueller t-shirt I ordered. At least this one is cool. Abe Fromen is the Chicago celebrity Ferris imitates in order to get a lunch reservation. Someone made a Abe Fromen video that was probably pretty funny back in 1986 but seems to lag a little now.

Apparently Sausage King is a restaurant in San Diego. I'm not really a fan of San Diego. The beach town I grew up in was about halfway between San Diego and LA. All the cool people (in my opinion) moved to LA and all the slackers moved to San Diego (the social eunuchs are still living in San Clemente). As far as I'm concerned it's the first clean restroom on the way back from Tijuana.

I had a very good friend who went to school down there and kept trying to convince me how cool it was. She was dating the lead singer of a band from San Diego and would drag me along to shows. Before the shows she would take me to some restaurant or coffee house that she was convinced would change my attitude. Sadly, it did not, and eventually she found out the lead singer was sleeping around on her. We had a celebratory dinner when their first album failed miserably. As far as I know he's still working at Kinko's, and she is happily married with a really cool kid. All's well that ends well.
