Dragonball Z is one of those shows I used to enjoy watching but for the life of me not be able to tell you why. As I recall, it was pretty formulaic. Each set of episodes would start with a new villain more powerful than ever seen before showing up and kicking the crap out of one or more of Goku's friends (usually Piccolo) and then Goku. Goku is convinced he can't beat the new villain at his current power level, goes off, trains while the villain tears ass across the world, then comes back and beats the hell out of new villain until peace reigns. It seems to involve a lot of yelling while generating power, flying really fast, and striking cool poses. Meanwhile they are all looking for the seven magic Dragonballs, which either give the bearer more power, grants wishes, or destroys the planet they are on.
Nevertheless, it was always great to watch, and you really didn't have to follow the serious exactly as you could sit in on any episode and enjoy it. I found this forum post about a guy who claims to be
married to DBZ. I love a good obsession.
I found this video that shows you how to make your own amazing
Piccolo makeup and costume. This guy also has some funny comments about the DBZ live action movie. I checked out this guy's
Indy Mogul and it's pretty freaking amazing. I think I know what I am doing for Halloween this year.
