Ok. I know there are fans out there who are going to buy this shirt. I just haven't met any yet.
I'm kind of taking this shirt as an opportunity to psychoanalyze myself as to the reasons why I feel compelled to bring in shirts that I should never bring in. Let's get into this one.
Reason 1: I did enjoy Days of Thunder if only because I am sort of a Nascar fan. I think guys who move over from F1 are kind of wimps and it was funny to see Cole freak out because other cars were bumping him.
Reason 2: It is obscure enough to be appealing to anyone who, like me, appreciates not wearing the obvious shirt. It fits too perfectly into the Fantasy Logo category. Those shirts are hard for me to resist.
Reason 3: While I am not really a fan of Tom Cruise (OMG his official home page has the 2001 theme music. Amazing), but he is such a freak these days that I can't help but be intrigued. Here is a fun site called Tom Cruise is Nuts that has a ton of freaky facts about him. I think he's a great actor, and has done some amazing things, but the fact is he is uber weird.
Hmm. I was hoping to find a good Gerry Maguire spoof but they all really suck. I mean like open airlock suck. I did find the Tom Cruise spoof interview done by Jerry O'Connell that's decent, but that's about it.
This is weird. I found a service that hires out celebrity look alikeslike Tom Cruise. I guess you would hire one to attend a party or something. I can't imagine why that would be cool. Honestly, for a couple thousand bucks you can hire the real Lindsay Lohan for a party. That could be really entertaining. |
