This is one of the few show that actually got better with the newer series. The original was pretty good in a lame 70's sort of way, but the new series was absolutely riveting. Of course, I definitely have some questions, like what the hell was Starbuck anyway and how did the Skinjobs on the Galactica all channel Jimmy Hendrix 100,000 years before he was born? Here is an interview with producers Ronald Moore and David Eick where they address these and other questions, but to be honest it sounds like tap dancing to me. I don't think they really had a good answer.
That being said, I still loved the series and will most likely watch it again and again. I am happy to have t shirts from the new and old show as well.
